Museum Bramberg: This regional musuem is worth a visit both in winter and summer. You will get to know the history of the village, find displays of the famous emeralds and crystals that have been delved in the area, and  see an exhibition on bees. Using your guest card or the Nationalpark Sommercard, you can vist the musuem for free.

Nationalparkzentrum Hohe Tauern in Mittersill: A unique alpine experience exhibition on the nature of Hohe Tauern National Park Visiting this museum is definitely not one to miss during your stay. Highlight is the 360º movie on the overwhelming nature found in the park. During the summer you will be able to visit the museum for free using the Nationalpark Sommercard, accompanied with your stay at Alpenchalet am Wildkogel.

Wildpark Aurach-Tirol: Enjoy the splendid views and scenery of the Kitzbüheler Alps, while you find yourself surrounded by wild animals such as different species of deer, goats, lynx, and llamas. The animals are fed at 2.30 pm. The Wildpark is open both in summer and winter, from Wednesday to Sunday, and has a playground as well as a café.

Familienland Pillerseetal: In the summer, this family amusement park will make for a fun day for you and your children. Familienpark Pillersee is open daily from 1st May to 31st October (from 9 am to 7 pm), and offers entertainment for young and old alike.

Krimml Falls & Theme Park: Located in Hohe Tauern National Park, the Krimml Falls with their total drop of nearly 400 metres are the highest waterfalls of the Alps, and the fifth highest in the world. These waterfalls are part of the River Ache, which originates from the 3000 metre-high glacier of the same name. The water plunges downward in three stepsand may freeze in winter. A walk on the Wasserfallweg (waterfall path) from the Gerlospass or the village of Krimml is a beautiful experience. Next to the Krimml Falls you will find the entrance to a dazzling theme park: Wasserwelten Krimml, which is an exciting experience for young and old. It shows water in all its forms and shapes, so don’t wait and take a dip in this fascinating water world!

Großglockner: The most famous alpine road leads you into the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park to Austria’s highest peak, the Großglockner (3,798m), and the Pasterze Glacier. Discover this spectacular driving experience, and enjoy the exceptional scenery on the 48 km Hochalpenstraße (high alpine road) with its 36 bends and an altitude ascent of 2,504 metres! You will pass through a unique mountain landscape with blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, impressive rocks, and eternal ice, until you reach the high plateau at the foot of the Großglockner, the Kaiser Franz Josephs Höhe. Here you will find the largest caves in the world, as well as mineral water sources and waterfalls. The road was completed in 1935, and leads from Bruck (near Kaprun) to Heiligenblut. The Großglockner high alpine road offers an unforgettable experience in harmony with nature, with a view of more than 60 peaks of 3,000 metres and higher! The Glocknerwiesen (Glockner meadows) on the south side with many species of orchids are a botanical sensation.

Observatory & Planetarium Königsleiten: For those interested in our universe, the planetarium in Königsleiten offers an unforgettable day. You will be given the opportunity to make your own observations, and there are performances for both adults and children.

Kaprun Dam & Reservoirs: A trip to the reservoirs near Kaprun will be a fascinating journey into the high mountains (1,068 – 2,040m) of the Hohe Tauern. The pure fresh air, the lush green of the alpine meadows, the turquoise water of the reservoirs and the glaciers are very impressive. The ride upwards starts at the far end of the Kaprun Valley at the Kesselfall Alpenhaus. Buses will take you as far as the Mooserboden reservoir at 2,040m. The Electricity and Ice Adventure World will tell you many interesting facts from the world of glaciers and the history of how power plants were built.
