Project Description

AUSTRIAN HOSPITALITY

Bramberg Am Wildkogel

Smaragddorf Bramberg am Wildkogel (850m) is a friendly village located in the astonishing Pinzgau Valley in the Province of Salzburg. The well-known towns Kitzbühel, Zell am See, and Kaprun are just along the road. Bramberg is centrally situated near 3 vast ski areas.

The Pinzgau Valley is known as a valley where the winters are still really cold. The average temperature is about five degrees lower than in other valleys, and that’s why the trees along the twisting river are often covered with white frost, creating a fairy-tale image. In December 2010, Bramberg put a new cable car railway into use, which takes you directly to the top of Ski Arena Wildkogel.

The village of Bramberg is a village of friendly Austrians who give tourists a warm welcome. You will find snug shops, excellent restaurants, a fresh bakery with a daily delivery service of fresh bread rolls, and many ski and toboggan rental facilities. There is also a doctor in the village, and in the nearby town of Mittersill,10 km along the road, you will find a hospital.

Bramberg is also home to the unique, 14 km-long toboggan run. The toboggan route winds its way down from the Wildkogel, offering spectacular views of the valley along the way.

Cross-country skiers will enjoy the 200 km-long Pinzga Loipe, leading from Krimml to Zell am See, with the middle station of the Panoramabahn cable car offering trails with guaranteed snow (1200m). Other ways to enjoy the winter are walks directly from Alpenchalet am Wildkogel and through the valley, go for a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride, or enjoy the wintry landscape on horseback. Alternatively go winter hiking on special snow shoes with a alpine guide, or try your hand at eisstockschiessen (the Austrian version of curling) or ice-skating.
